NOTICE of Budget Committee Meeting March 30, 2023
A public meeting of the 2023-2024 Mist-Birkenfeld RFPD Budget Committee will be held Thursday, March 30, 2023, at 7:00 PM at the Mist-Birkenfeld Main Station located at 12525 Highway 202. This is a meeting where deliberation of the Budget Committee will take place. Any person may attend this meeting and discuss the proposed programs with the Budget Committee.
BUSINESS TO BE CONDUCTED AT THIS MEETING WILL BE:
- Election of Officers
- Presentation of Budget Message
- Presentation of Budget Document
- Discussion of the Budget Document
- Public Testimony
- Scheduling of possible future meetings
The proposed budget document will be available for inspection beginning March 22, 2023 at the Mist-Birkenfeld Main Station at 12525 Hwy 202, Mist, Oregon, during the hours of 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

MBRFPD has two Fire District Board positions up for election this year (May 16, 2023 election). If you are interested in applying for one of the available positions, please go to:

Candidate Filing: Filings will be accepted at county elections (230 Strand St, St Helens) beginning February 6. Filing deadline is March 16.
All candidates will need to complete an SEL-190 form. Filing fee will be $10 or, in lieu of money, a petition of a certain number of electors specific to the district. To pursue the signature option, a candidate would need to complete an SEL-121(s) and it would be advisable to get 10 -20% more signatures than required. For all districts involved in this election the required is number is 25 valid signatures.
There will not be a voter’s pamphlet this election. The SEL-190 is a public document and will be posted to the county website for public consumption with signature, residential address if mailing address provided and all but one phone number redacted.
