About our District and the personnel who support it:

 

Mist-Birkenfeld RFPD operates from 6 stations strategically located in specific response areas.  Our responses originate from the Main Station on Highway 202, from Peterson Station near Apiary Junction on Nehalem Highway North, from Burris Station in the Natal area, from the Fishhawk Station on Fishhawk Lake, Sager Station on Highway 202, and Birkenfeld Station on Hwy 202.  

 

Our Training Division Chief is a member of the Fire Chiefs Association, President of Lower Columbia Region Training Officers Association, Oregon State Fire Marshal's Incident Management Team, a Fire Service Instructor, A Fire Officer 1, Rope Rescue Tech., a member of the Columbia 9-1-1 Advisory Committee, a member of the Multi Agency Jurisdictional CAD System Users Group, and a Large Animal Rescue Tech. Our EMS Division Chief is a member of the Ambulance Service Area Advisory Committee, a Fire Instructor I, is a member of the Lower Columbia Regional Emergency Medical Services Organization, the Oregon Fire Office Administrators Association, and the Oregon Fire Medical Administrators Association.  Our Rescue Division Chief is a member of the Columbia County Fire Investigation Team, a member of the Clatsop County Fire Investigation Team.  As the leadership performs, so do our volunteers. 

 

Of course, no review of the recent past could overlook the beautiful Main station in which we meet.  It is the product of a district wide, state wide, even nation wide effort.  This station, built on the generosity of our friends and volunteers, stands as a testimony to what selfless service and cooperation can accomplish.  However, we will not rest on the accomplishments of the past.   Rather, we will constantly seek for better ways to serve our community.
